The Ten Thousand Islands are a nature lovers paradise.

In addition to fishing, birding, hunting and relaxing, there are  many beautiful and unique things to see.

Along the waters edge and among the mangroves you can see many prized orchid species. Many are endangered and all are protected by federal law (look but do not touch!). The mangrove swamp is spectacular as well as the gulf vista and the amazing sunsets.

Star gazing is fabulous.  Chokoloskee and the surrounding area have very little unnatural light so you can really enjoy the stars.  Check your calendar for any meteor showers and book your trip to enjoy the cellestial fireworks!

You can also visit the Big Cypress National Preserve where the few remaining Florida Panthers roam, or the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve which is home to some of the rarest orchid species in the world. Come see why visitors from all over the globe return year after year.
